Saughton in Edinburgh was the venue for the 20’s second fixture in the Lowland development league and a spirited comeback saw the Swifts return to Perth with an excellent away win.
The first quarter of the game saw Jeanfield take control and several good opportunities were created in particular for striker Strong (Aiden) who was proving a handful for the home defence.
Tynecastle were struggling to get much joy but a combination of great goalkeeping and wayward finishing meant that Jeanfield did not convert their advantage.
That carelessness would be punished when the Tynecastle left-back slipped by some weak challenges in the midfield and reached the edge of the box unchallenged before placing his strike beyond the helpless Forsyth.
A second followed shortly after from the penalty spot. With Murrayfield not far away, keeper Forsyth’s challenge in the box might be permitted there but left the referee no option but to point to the spot. Penalty converted.
Jeanfield found themselves two down, but they replied with a conversion of their own before halftime. Strong (A) was released down the right and once inside the defender he was hauled down. Stepping up Strong (A) found the net confidently and importantly pegged back the deficit before halftime.
The second half began as the first, with the Swifts sensing an opportunity. Honeyman and his impressive partner in central defence Webster were dealing with any attacks and the game was flowing towards the home teams goal.
This pressure would tell when Honeyman flighted a free-kick into the box and under aerial pressure from Strong (A) the home keeper punched the ball into his own net.
Strong (A) would be the match-winner when midway through the half he claimed his third goal in two games. In a similar fashion to a first-half chance he was released in behind the home defence and this time he slotted his finish with composure.
The last quarter of the game saw several changes from both teams but Jeanfield stayed resolute to see out the game, deserved winners.
